Having being involved in the welding supplies industry for the last 35 years and once owning Lincoln Welding Supplies Ltd based in Sheffield. Early 2010 I was asked by Dr Jay Jaiswal, whether i would like to get involved in a project, to look into Automated welding of Discreet Defects on the running surface of rails using a low temperature pre heat process. I obviously said yes and the journey began. Jay at the time was responsible for Track Engineering & Technologies for the Rail Sector of Tata Steel Europe, his responsibility was for the research and development activities of the company for a large number of years. He was instrumental in the development of many innovations, a number of which resulted in the generation of Intellectual Property Rights for the company.

Dr Jay Jaiswal after retirement from Tata started ARR Rail Solutions Ltd. We have now worked as strategic partners on numerous projects. 

I believed at that point we were on to something and decided to start up LWS Rail Machines Ltd in November 2010.We built our first prototype in 2011 and started to show it around. Then in 2014 I sold my shareholding in Lincoln Welding to enable me to concentrate my time and efforts in LWS Rail Machines.

Together with ARR Rail Solutions and Pressure Design Hydraulics Ltd we have now created a fully automated welding machine for repairing the Gauge Corner on grooved rails, the only Submerged Arc Welding machine in the world i believe to run straight from a welding generator which is now being used by Inline Track Welding around the UK.

Also in 2020 We created Prototypes of a novel air fed PAPR medical jacket with integrated visor called Safe And Comfy to try and help the Covid-19 effort. More importantly, as virtually all currently available PAPR units are imported, a key success of the project has been the re-engineering of PAPR technology to enable UK manufacture of a much improved simple to use device.

With my extensive supplier and customer contacts built up over the last 37 years, i am always being asked for help, so i decided to start doing what i am best at and that is providing my services.
